Ginger gin tonic
A simple gin tonic is good, but at the BRUSSELS DISTILLERY we like to push things a bit further. Why not test a variant of that inconic cocktail ...
6cl of BRUSSELS gin
1 cl of Ginger Syrup
Tonic Water
Ice
In a rocks glass or Collins glass, add gin and syrup, then add ice, and top with tonic.
Garnish (garnissez/versier) with a lime wedge (rondelle de citron/ citroenwig).
Making the ginger syrup
You can either buy ginger syrup or make it yourself.
1 cl of ginger syrup is:
1 cl of water
1 cl of sugar
0,5 gr of peeled ginger (gingembre pelées/geschilde gember)
Bring the water and the sugar to the boil.
When it boils, add the peeled ginger for 15 minutes.
Filter our the ginger pieces.
French 75
A cocktail right out of the 20ies, named after a famous cannon used during the Great war.
A very refreshing mix between a spirit and sparkling wine.
6 cl of BRUSSELS Gin
3 cl fresh squeezed lemon juice (about 1/2 lemon)
3 cl of champagne
3 gr of sugar
ice
variation: use 5cl of apple cider instead of champagne
Pour (verser/schenk) the lemon juice and the sugar over ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake and put it into a martini glass. Top with champagne. Garnish (garnissez/versier) with a twist of lemon. Close your eyes, image you are in the 1920 and drink a sip.
